Here's What 20 Years
Taught Me

I'll be honest: most of what passes for "digital marketing strategy" is just a list of things someone read on a blog.

"Post three times a week. Run Google Ads. Do email marketing. Hire a VA. Use this AI tool."

None of it's connected. None of it starts with understanding your actual customer. And most of it falls apart the moment the consultant leaves.

After building hundreds of websites and helping businesses grow online for two decades, here's what I've learned:

"Good work starts with research nobody wants to do. It's built on thinking, not trends. And it only works if you can actually manage it yourself."

— That's what I focus on now.

1 How I Got Here

I started Digital Den in Gold Coast, Queensland, doing what most web developers do: building websites, fixing tech problems, helping small businesses get online.

The work was fine. The results were... mixed.

Some sites got customers. Others looked great but the phone never rang. I kept asking why.

Turns out, the difference wasn't the design. It was whether anyone bothered to understand the customer before building anything.

So I started digging deeper. Talking to customers. Checking what competitors were doing. Understanding what actually makes people buy versus what just looks impressive in screenshots.

The more I learned, the more I realized most businesses weren't getting this. They were paying for work without thinking. Action without planning.

That's when everything changed.

2 What I Do Now

I help businesses build websites and marketing that actually get customers—by understanding what people want, making it easy for them to buy, and setting things up so you can manage it without losing your mind.

🔍

Starting with research.

Real research. Not guessing. I talk to your customers, see what competitors are doing, look at what's actually happening. You'd be surprised how many "experts" skip this entirely.

🗺️

Building a plan, not a to-do list.

Your website, ads, social media, and follow-up need to work together. Most people treat them as separate projects. That's why nothing works like it should.

⚙️

Creating something you can run.

I set up tools and processes (including AI where it helps) so you're not stuck paying someone forever. The goal is to make you capable, not dependent.

🗣️

Honesty about what works.

I'll tell you if your idea won't work and explain why. I'll also tell you what will. After 20 years, I can usually spot the real problem in the first conversation.

3 Who I Work With

I work with Australian businesses—and increasingly, clients worldwide—who are done with surface-level advice.

  • Doing $500k-$5M in revenue
  • Have a good product or service
  • Know your marketing should be working harder
  • Tired of paying people who don't actually improve anything
  • Frustrated with websites that look good but don't get customers
  • Sick of random tactics that don't add up to anything

You need someone who understands business, not just the latest trend.

4 Why This Approach Works

Most businesses don't have a doing problem. They have a thinking problem.

Another website
↳ Understand what makes your customers actually buy.
More social posts
↳ A clear path from "just looking" to "take my money".
More AI tools
↳ A setup that actually fits how your business works.

That's the difference between looking busy and making money.

5 What You Can Expect

A Focus on Quality, Not Quantity

I work with a small number of clients at a time. This isn't about how many projects I can juggle. If we work together, you get my attention and 20 years of experience—not some junior person reading from a script.

Direct Communication

I'm direct. I don't hide behind fancy words or make things complicated to justify what I charge. Clear thinking leads to clear work.

Results over Trends

I focus on what actually gets customers. Not what's trendy. Not what looks good on Instagram. What turns visitors into buyers and builds real growth.

Long-Term Value

I build for the long term. Quick wins are great, but I'm more interested in setting up things that get better over months and years, not tactics that need constant babysitting.

The Reality Check

! This isn't for everyone.

If you want someone to just execute without questioning your ideas, I'm not your person. If you need the cheapest option or want it done yesterday, there are faster, cheaper providers.

"But if you want someone who'll understand your business, tell you what's actually wrong, and build something that works for years—not just months—we should talk."

I typically work with clients in one of three ways: 1. Research and Plan, 2. Plan + Build, or 3. Ongoing Help. Book a call and we'll figure out what makes sense for where you are now.
